I. Statement of Claim
On 21st April 2026, my client was being arrested after an altercation with Law Enforcement. During this altercation, my client was shot and needed medical attention.
Whilst at St. Fiacre, before my client received any sort of medical attention, Officers began to take gunfire. As they did so, Steven Wet started to pursue the individual shooting, whilst my client was still in the back of the cruiser, unable to move as he needed desperate medical attention. My client, extremely disorientated and injured, begged and pleaded for Officer Wet to get him medical attention. However, Wet told my client, "I don't have any other choice but to neutralise any threat', and further added, 'You risked my life by shooting at me'- this comment especially made my client feel as if Steven Wet had some sort of grudge, or revenge plot against him.
Officer Steven Wet not only failed to appropriately care for my client whilst he was in police custody/care, but also massively violated his civil rights and committed multiple acts of negligent behaviour, unbecoming of a police officer. My client should have never been brought into harms way BY Steven Wet himself under any circumstance.
II. Relief
Due to the extreme risk to my client and negligent behaviour of Steven Wet, we ask the court for the following:
$50,000 for civil rights violation & major negligence on behalf of Steven Wet.
$50,000 for unjust pain and suffering, adding to mental and emotional stress on my client
$10,000 for lawyer fees
We also request that the court strongly advise the Law Enforcement department Mr. Wet is in, to thoroughly look at his behaviour and decide the correct course of action- whether this be additional training, or evaluation within his employment.
